Just Eat Food Fest and the Chicken Katsu Burger

Last month we were delighted to take part in the Just Eat Fantasy Fusion Food Festival at the ‘Last Days of Shoreditch’, and now we’ve had time to breathe and dig out some of the best pictures we thought to take the opportunity to look back at the weekend and our favourite bits as well as giving a big thank you to Just Eat for having us there!

This year’s Just Eat Food Fest was a Fantasy fusion theme, to them fantasy fusion food is ‘simple yet spectacular combinations of food’ and there were certainly some amazing combinations! Delicious dishes ranging from chicken and waffles to vegan corndogs, and of course our mighty Chicken Katsu Burger and at only £4 a dish it was fantastic to see people build communal feasts from all different cultures and cuisines all under the (unheard of) British sunshine.

The ‘Last Days of Shoreditch’ felt like the perfect venue, with slides, ball pits, photobooths and live music it was an event full of colour and life and a great day out for Londoners of all ages. It was great for a bit of celeb spotting too, with Michelle Keegan, Scarlett Moffatt and Professor Green all in attendance. With the venue closing its doors for good on the 29th July this really felt like the perfect send off.

As a Just Eat Local Legend (Just Eat’s food knighthood that indicated the best takeaways in the local area) we were really proud to be invited to cook at this year’s festival, and when we found out the theme was fantasy fusions we were over the moon! At Yuhoki we pride ourselves in creating authentic Japanese dishes with a touch of fusion so as you can imagine this year’s food fest was right up our street! Our 5* chef spent many painstaking hours trying to think of the perfect fusion dish and in the end, came up with our spectacular Chicken Katsu Burger (which is the combination that actually topped Britain’s fantasy food fusion list!)

 The response we got from our customers was incredible and made the manic hours of cooking and keeping a handle on the ques totally worth it! Most of all when we discovered that our Chicken Katsu Burger was, in fact, the top-selling dish of the festival, a fact of which we are incredibly proud and very grateful to all of our customers for.

We were overwhelmed by the support and appreciation we received from all of the visitors as well as bowled over by the event itself and it’s fantastic organisers, Just Eat. This has spurred us on to keep creating and providing high quality delicious dished to all London’s foodies and beyond!
